Once again crafting has been on the slow side .. I was feeling under the weather, we have company in from out of state, and are in the process of moving into a new house (FINALLY!). As if that wasn't enough to deal with on top of normal every day life, Hubbles decided on a Saturday afternoon trip to Petsmart to bring home a new addition to the family.

I know I've said previously this would have very little personal stuff, but this sort of has to do with crafting, seeing as how I will get very little accomplished in the next few weeks because of new addition Josh. So, there you have it.

Last week was FREEZING .. well .. freezing as far as Texas goes .. and so I whipped up a quick scarf to match my Gryffindor jacket. On Sunday I decided that I needed a hat as well, since the only hat I have is black and yellow, aka Hufflepuff colors, and I can't POSSIBLY wear a Hufflepuff hat with a Gryffindor scarf & jacket, now can I?

So after the wee one's marathon morning nap (which by the way I am SO glad she has resumed), they were both complete and ready to be modeled by my darling Hubbles.

Both were made with plain ol' Red Heart yarn, the scarf is all dc and the hat is done in spiral sc using this pattern, which results in a really nice close fitting beanie which I have been desiring for quite some time now. Good stuff.

Now I REALLY need to get started (and finished) on Christmas presents, as we are doing Christmas with my brother & his girlfriend next week when we go there for Thanksgiving. I also have a puppy blanket for Josh about 3/4 of the way done, but I am seriously debating frogging it and redoing it in dc instead of sc for size reasons. Or just scrapping it and doing a no-sew fleece blanket like I did for Connor. Decisions, decisions.

Also I finally nabbed a good picture of wee one in her Halloween shirt .. I can't imagine how difficult it will be to catch her when she's walking, I have a hard enough time keeping her out of the cats food now! :P

First time was a great time ..

Well I have been putting this off long enough, I guess it's time to give a first post. I probably won't talk too much about personal life-related stuff here, because that's not really what this is for in my opinion .. but I'm sure it will worm its way in here and there. Anyway, here are some recently finished projects.

A round ripple afghan (pattern here) in TLC Wiggles, purchased for .99 a skein at Hobby Lobby, and an F hook (never AGAIN!) It took me approx 3 skeins of each color to finish, and I lost track of how many hours. Mostly done while the wee one took marathon naps and the not-so-wee one was in preschool. It was originally supposed to be a Christmas present for not-so-wee one, but I have no self control. Also, I don't know why the round joinings look SO pronounced in the picture, but I assure you that they are not that noticible in real life. At least no one has mentioned it to me. What if they are?!?!

Three shirts stenciled in acrylics using the freezer paper method on what was dubbed "T-Shirt Saturday" this past weekend. The boys all played Dead Rising for hours upon end, I cut and painted for hours on end. The "Dawn of the Dead" shirt was by FAR my most complicated to date and came out incredibly well, in my opinion. Plans for another T-Shirt Saturday are in the works.

This morning I purchased the Luke in a Dinosaur Costume pattern, with plans to make it for the baby sisters Christmas present in red instead of green. Stay tuned ;)
